Edinburgh agency The Gate Worldwide has provided creative and branding consultancy to support the launch of M&S Energy. The new brand is a partnership between the legendary High Street retailer and Scotland’s largest publicly quoted company, Scottish and Southern Energy.   The partnership see M&S extending its in-store range to include a Gas and Electricity offer which rewards customers for saving energy, which in turn helps reduce energy costs.

“It’s an innovative partnership between two great companies – both with exceptional commitment to customer service,” says The Gate’s Helen Hourston. “Everybody knows about the quality standards at M&S, and it’s significant that they chose Scottish and Southern Energy as a partner. SSE have just won the award for “Best Overall Energy Supplier” in the uSwitch satisfaction reports for the 5th consecutive time. And it’s a privilege and honour to be working with these amazing businesses.”

Helping companies bring commercial partnerships to life has become something of an interesting sideline for The Gate Worldwide. The agency has been handling a number of similar business development consultancy projects recently for other clients.  As ever, the agency seems reluctant to blow its own trumpet. “It’s important that our clients’ commercial interests come first,” says Creative Director Pete Martin. “These are remarkable businesses and brands. We’re delighted to be involved and I’m sure they appreciate our help. But the credit for their success belongs to the managers and staff of those businesses, not us.”
