Communication

spacer

Communication is the process that allows organisms to exchange information. Humans have evolved and learned to communicate in a number of brilliant ways ways; speaking, singing, tone of voice, body language, sign language, para-language, touch, eye contact, writing, gestures, sign language, facial expressions.

Put confusingly; communication is the exchange of information between members of a group of living beings that enables survival or improved living conditions for the sender or receiver of the message or both. Put simply; communication is the most important thing that humans can do. Between parties, it is how we share knowledge and experiences, give advice and commands, and ask questions.

Speech is the most common form of interpersonal communication – this process is called conversation. There are an estimated 6,700 human spoken and written languages in the world. The most widely spoken languages in the world are Mandarin, English and Hindustani. An estimated 508 million people speak in English.

Recent media and technological developments like the Internet has resulted in mass communication and a new culture of social networking sites like Facebook and Myspace. Internet developments have also led to many people writing ‘bloggs’ - A blog is a website where entries, often news reports or personal experiences and opinions, are written in chronological order and commonly displayed in reverse chronological order.

We think communication is great.
