When we woke up to the uncertainty of a hung parliament a couple of weeks ago – I was glued to the 24 hour uninterrupted news coverage of it.
Not since spending 3 tedious days of a rainy Spanish holiday stuck in a hotel room – have I been so transfixed to BBC News 24 and Sky News. I am not entirely sure whether it was actually the outcome that I was interested in, or whether it was the creative ways that the news-casters came up with to help them fill until the time we actually got a decision.
You had to hand it to them, there is a point that people in suits running between a car and party headquarters isn’t interesting, and nothing can make it seem so. It must be stressful, especially if the people you are having to interview are politicians and you can’t remember the last time you actually went to sleep.
In classic form, Alastair Campbell manages to wind up a tired and emotional Adam Boulton from Sky News who lets it all get too much for him…
