Surreal, experimental, provocative…these are just some of the words I would use to describe the work of Bela Borsodi. Like the Salvador Dali of still life photography, Borsodi challenges our perception of inanimate objects by altering the context within which they are seen. Whilst the majority of his work is for fashion editorial and advertising, his background in fine art and graphic design is evident from his interdisciplinary approach to photography. As well as working for the likes of Vogue, Wallpaper, Selfridges, Nike, and Swarovski, he has collaborated with prolific graphic designer and typographer, Stefan Sagmeister, on the award-winning Zumtobel AG 01/02 annual report <a href=”http://designarchives.aiga.org/entry.cfm/eid_491″ and Copy magazine spreads.
