Some people climbed mountains for Comic Relief. Here at The Gate we tackled a mountain too – of cake that is. On Friday 13th March we decided to put our creative minds to good use and got baking in aid of Red Nose Day.
Little did we realise we had so many brilliant cooks amongst us… We were inundated with chocolate brownies, muffins, marshmallow truffles, cookies, red nose crispy cakes, cupcakes a plenty, banana loaf, fruit loaf, cheese scones, focaccias and a rather delectable strawberry cheesecake.
And so, in the name of charity of course, we set about climbing our Mount Kilimanjaro. Needless to say we all felt a little queasy afterwards and our waistlines were probably a little worse for the wear – but we were doing it for a good cause!
All in all, we raised over £100 – thanks to the baking and the munching efforts of staff from The Gate, Smarts and 21 Colour.

Mmmmm…. I’m still running off those bright red cup cakes!
