The Gate’s inaugural 2009 Badminton match was held last night “Monday” at Ainslie Park (Or Mr Brough’s back yard as we’ve dubbed it). Four spirited members from the agency account handling team descended, shuttlecocks at the ready. We were amazed by Helen’s ability to return seemingly impossible smashes, Nic’s fleet of foot around the back of the court, Dan’s light touch (for a big lad) and Craig’s ability to clip the top of the net.

A particular highlight included a wayward forehand from Nic which ended up at the feet of an opponent - on another court.

Scores on the doors? In a relative close match, in which Nic and Craig were handicapped in their two losing games by some intrusive lighting, Helen and Dan bt Nic and Craig 2-1, and Dan and Craig bt Helen and Nic 1-0.

More wrist exercise next Monday.
