Smashing trip to France
By Pete Martin
When The Gate Worldwide embarked on its annual trip to France, maybe they shouldnât have taken the advice to âhave a smashing timeâ so literally.
Every year the agency takes a trip over to the shores of France to enjoy a picnic and a few glasses of Le Vin â or as we like to call it in Scotland, a piss up.
This yearâs trip was apparently going smoothly, with the coach-load of âMerry Gatersâ on their way back to the ferry, happily having enjoyed their day. Only for, to quote Pete Martin, creative director of The Gate: âA wee old french guyâ to come around the corner on the wrong side of the road.
Martin continued: âHe totalled his car and our bus took a count of 10. He got stretchered away by les pompiers. It was a crappy end to a pretty good day out.â
